Chapter 59 - Bottle it Up

Last week faired much better than the previous one. Work was work, not much happening. I had a few majorly busy days and then some afternoons where I did absolutely nothing. Friday I couldn't focus for the life of me. I was supposed to work on a presentation for my boss but slacked hardcore. However, I made up for this morning and it is now in her inbox for editing.

This weekend was wonderful but it went by way too fast. Friday was Lily Mae's birthday at Baileys. Keep in mind Lily is a two-year old dachshund. Any reason to drink right? It was rather entertaining. This gay guy kept telling me how beautiful I was and how amazing my boobs were. Great right? Why can't a straight man tell me that right now? Of course he should probably leave out the last part or else I might slap him right then and there. We called it an early night however A2 and I decided to go back into the bar because we spotted two guys coming in right when we were leaving. The bartender probably knew because our drinks were free and the round was on him. Score! The disappointing news: the two guys we came back in for were complete douche bags. At least we got a round on the house. Can't complain too much.

Saturday I slept in a bit then headed to do laundry. Took the chump with me and met C at Baileys. Another round on the house. Score again! The rest of the day was relaxing. Did the usually dog park thing and watched movies.

Sunday I woke up way too damn early. C and I met at the dog park at eight. I returned to my place at ten and slept until two. It was fantabulous. After finally waking up C returned to my place with her two doggies and Mousse who she was babysitting. Ted and Mousse had a ball for a good hour. Totally cute. While they played I got all pretty for S's surprise party. At five I headed to C-Town to get the ingredients for my tasty guac. A short walk and never ending climb to J2's later I arrived and made my guac. S arrived at six thirty and was totally surprise. Win for his wife! Awesome time spent with great people.

This morning I woke up to a dull headache realizing I def should have drank more water last night. F. Labor day is next Monday which means I have a three day weekend ahead of me! Makes this week a little better. I just don't understand, why does the weekend have to go by so damn fast? Not fair.

The Love Front: I've decided to give up on the one guy I was interested it. He's either isn't interested or he is just way too damn confusing for my liking. I keep trying to tell myself I'm only 23 going on 24... I have plenty of time and I really shouldn't worry about finding someone. I just wish I had someone to confide in, hold me, play with my hair, kiss my on the forehead, makes silly faces at me, and everything else that comes along with a significant other. Patience being a virtue is complete bullshit. Patience sucks ass.

I am falling in love with this city more and more every day. I never thought I would love living here this much. This city has so much to offer, why in the world did I wait a year to make the big jump? I'm sure moving here isn't for just anyone but I would def recommend it. I haven't regretted yet.

Chapter 58 - Roller Coaster Rides

I had a good friend come into town this weekend. Friday night was great for us both. I went and played poker across the street with some new friends. I ended up breaking even but the aftermath of entertainment totally made the night worthwhile. Let's just say one of the guys I was with ate at the diner with no shoes on. Talk about classic. I was on cloud nine for multiple reasons. TP returned from his adventures and came in singing, "I'm in LOVE!" We both were in such great moods.

We spent the day Saturday doing; my laundry, eating tasty pizza, drinking at Bailey's, buying goods at the pet store, and reminiscing about the people we are currently crushing on hardcore. We then were invited over to my friend's apartment for game night. The forecast for Sunday was looking disgusting so he decided to have our tradition a night early. I was excited because I was in such a great mood and ready to kick some butt at whatever game we were going to play. On the way to J2's we stopped at the wine shop and I purchased my favorite Vouvray. It's kind of pricey but I haven't had it in a while and what better way to enjoy it than with great friends on a Saturday evening.

We finally arrived at the top of J2's apartment sweating our asses off but ready to relax and enjoy the great view his apartment offers. The wine was delicious. TP had to leave early to go meet his friend/crush, we both winked at each other hoping to reunite with fun stories in the morning.

After a couple hours of hanging out and socializing the food was finally ready. Oh man, was it worth the wait!  The food that J2 and S made/grilled was extremely tasty and I was in heaven. After stuffing ourselves with the great food it was time to play Monopoly. Game on!

How can I put this? Everyone there including myself are complete smartasses. I am probably Queen Smartass. However, for personal reasons I just couldn't handle it, AT ALL. I was on the verge of tears and had to get the hell outta dodge. I did just that. We had a five minute break to prepare for cheesecake, something I had been looking forward to the entire evening. However, I left while it was being cut. I hurried to gather all of my things including Teddy. By the time I got to the bottom of the stairs in J2's apartment the flood gates had opened and I was balling my eyes out. The walk home was a total blur except for running into a sweet couple that thought Teddy was sooooo cute. I then looked up at them and they quickly backed off and made the scariest faces. (Looking back its highly entertaining and I am laughing about it as I type.) I ran up the stairs once I got home, unlocked the door, changed my clothes, got a roll of toilet paper out, and cried myself to sleep.

At approximately 2:30am TP arrived doing exactly the same thing.

Sunday was spent, sleeping, sulking, walking, eating, and crying. Absolutely 100% depressing. It also didn't help that it was pouring rain the entire day. Once we both finally woke up we strolled to the park and sat on a bench watching the river. It was humid, cloudy, and depressing. It suited us perfectly. We then ate at the diner down the street and followed it with a beer at Bailey's. When we were ready to go back to my place it was raining cats and dogs. I danced all the way home barefoot, skipping and singing. It made me feel alive again.

So to sum up my entire weekend: excited, happy, joyful, infatuated, singing, pissed, crying, sulking, talking, singing, dancing, smiling, and realizing that out of all the days of trying to be an optimist, I am allowed one day to even things out. :)

Chapter 57 - Meditation and Frustration

My friend convinced me to do a 21-day meditation challenge. Today is the first day. It reminded so much of my yoga class. In 21 days I shall be a new woman. Ha!

Last night I went to Baileys and met some lady friends from the dog park. The topic of conversation the entire night: men. It was a good and bad, no hating on the male population but more of trying to figure out our own guy problems. I think I am going to give up for awhile. Supposedly love finds you when you aren't looking so maybe that will work for me.

Besides meditation and love, life is okay. My bag was returned to me with everything intact, after of course I bought new everything. On the plus side I hadn't bought new makeup yet.

I wish this was a more upbeat update but its Monday.

Chapter 56 - Vacation, Mishaps, and Michael Buble

Vacation at the Frio was beyond amazing. It was relaxing, fun, joyful and memorable. Three families and the only dramatic things that occurred were my two nephews acting their age. I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked because my camera kept giving me some damn Error-99 that only disappeared after I removed and replaced the battery. Very irritating.

I floated two days and my back is still peeling from the sunburn I ended up with. I promise, I even used SPF 70 and 100 but alas that was no help once it was rubbed off by my tube. However, I also am a new wonderful color or brown that echoes the sun's rays at the Frio.

AR, a childhood friend was there as well. Her parents run the property management company we rented from. The best night had to be when we drove up to her parent's property and star gazed. The clear sky and absence of the moon allowed us to see absolutely everything. Once I laid down on the bed of the truck I was taken away by the abundance of stars. We stayed out there a couple of hours and talked about everything.

I returned to NYC last Tuesday evening and my vacation came to a screeching halt. I left my bag in the cab that drove me home from the airport. All my bras, underwear, relaxing-wear, and MAKE UP were lost. Having been already broke, I am now even more broke because I was forced to go shopping for under garments and clothing. As for my makeup, I'll have to wait till I encounter sales because I am lowering my standards just to have my skin break out from wearing crappy makeup.

More happened last week but I plead the 5 and would like to move on to more positive things.

This past weekend was pretty relaxing. I headed over to J2's on Friday evening and had a few glasses of Sangria along with queso and the homemade tortillas I brought back from Texas. Saturday me and him went to the MoMA. Overall I wasn't that impressed but there were a few galleries I really enjoyed. We then met up with a couple of my friends at Taco Taco. Yum! Saturday night ended with drama in the dog park and lots of cleaning. Sunday, watched two movies and went to the dog park. Talk about an adventure filled weekend. Ha!

Oh and I once again rediscovered the awesomeness of Michael Buble. Oh lordy.
Alright I think that's enough for now.
